New appointment at All Hallows

All Hallows are delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Barnes as Deputy Head of the School. Richard will be taking over from Dr Trevor Richards, who has been promoted to the Head of All Hallows.

Richard joined All Hallows in September from Hazlegrove Prep School, where he has been Head of the Middle School since September 2011. Whilst at Hazlegrove, he played a leading role in the school’s Academic Committee and taught History, Geography and English.  Prior to that, Richard gained over 15 years of Senior Management experience having worked in the education sector, both in the UK and Australia, since 1998.

Educated at The Blue School, Wells, Richard then undertook a Law Degree at the University of Liverpool, before moving to Australia where he completed a Bachelor of Primary Education Studies at Charles Sturt University. As well as being a qualified teacher, Richard also studied for a Masters in School Leadership, in which he gained a Distinction.

Dr Trevor Richards said “I was not only impressed by Richard’s intellectual qualities and his professional skills, but also his warm personae, track record of innovation and promotion of success, as well as his educational values.  I know that Richard is very excited about joining All Hallows and playing a central part in ensuring we maximise children’s progress, as well as helping them to grow into responsible, considerate, fun-loving, confident and principled young people.”
